In 1966 the international magazine Alpinismus awarded the Alpamayo (5,947 meters above sea level) as the most beautiful mountain in the world. The unique aesthetic perfection of this ice pyramid attracts lovers of extreme mountain nature art, whether for an approach trekking or to climb to the summit. The Nevado Alpamayo, located in the Huascarán National Park in the Cordillera Blanca, has a level of difficulty between moderate and high, and offers 13 different access routes.
The approach walk offers great scenery with emerald lagoons, noisy rivers, hidden streams, spectacular glaciers and also picturesque villages and archaeological ruins.
