Turquoise waters of Millpu

Peru offers many natural treasures for nature lovers. One of them is the incredible Turquoise Waters of Millpu. It is about 20 natural pools located at 3,500 meters high, between two canyons, about 3 hours by car from the city of Ayacucho. These turquoise and green pools (depending on the time of year) are adorned by the typical vegetation of the Peruvian highlands, showing to visitors a beautiful and original landscape. The color of its waters is produced by the sunlight and the minerals that the river carries.

The start point of the trek is Circamarca, with a walk of approximately 30 minutes to reach the pools. The road is well signposted but it is a trek with steep roads and many rocky sections, so it is advisable to go with a local guide to avoid losing your way.
