SILLUSTANI - PUNO

BE SEDUCED BY THE MYSTICISM OF THIS PLACE!

Puno is a magical place for its spectacular landscapes and its archaeological sites wrapped in multiple stories and legends. The mythical and the supernatural fly over the plateau like an invisible condor. The beauty of nature and legends come together in the Umayo Lagoon (34 km from the City of Puno) and the Sillustani tombs of the Kolla culture (13th-15th centuries) to give free rein to our imagination. Near the funerary tower or chullpa del lagarto, the royal trousseau of a nobleman was found with more than 500 pieces of gold, these pieces are exhibited in the Carlos Dreyer museum in the city of Puno.

The Umayo lagoon has a central island, of a mystical character for the nearby inhabitants. Visiting the funerary temples, we will descend to the port to board the rowing boats of the local population and begin the journey to the island on which mammal species such as vicuñas, deer, guanacos, bird species have been located like the Andean goose and partridges.
